Rehearsal scheduled is released closer to the parade and will be on the final itinerary. Here is a sample of a previous year to give you an idea of the events for the day.
- 1:00 a.m. - Auxiliary Meets in Uniform Room in full hair/make-up/uniform
1:30 a.m. - Members meet in lobby in uniform
1:45 a.m. - Depart hotel for early morning run through for NBC Cameras
Upon Arrival - Warm-up and meet Band Captain assigned by Macy's
Rehearsal of performance for NBC - 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. - Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe
- 6:00 a.m. - Depart Hard Rock and arrive and unload in uptown staging area
- 8:30 AM - The Parade Steps-off (NBC showing Broadway Acts and other Performers)
- TBA - MGAMB Position in the parade line-up
TBA - Perform in Herald Square in front of Macy's
Following Performance - Return to hotel.
- Enjoy the casual lunch Buffet at the hotel, Change and Hand-in Uniforms, Percussion instruments and Sousaphones. Percussionist and Sousaphone players must assist with packing and loading of these instruments in the equipment truck. Percussionist will need to remove all parade heads and replace with the heads that came with the drums. Once you have removed your parade head, you will then get to keep one head for a souvenir. Cymbal players will be given one of the heads from the quints. Cymbal players will assist with this process as well and turn in your cymbals. Instructions will be given by one of the percussion staff.
Pack for tomorrow's departure - 5:15 p.m. - Report to Grand Ballroom to begin dinner seating; any students departing with parents following dinner must bring their luggage down to the ballroom area for storage
- Closing Ceremony with Thanksgiving Dinner, Dance, and Reception with Parents and Friends
- 8:30 PM - Dinner/Dance ends.
